On November 23, 2020, IntelAdvise announced a $250,000 Indiana Economic Development Corporation grant awarded to the collaborative team working on Mursix's digital thread capabilities. The collaboration included Mursix, Cummins, Purdue Polytechnic, ICTT System Sciences, and IntelAdvise.
The announcement followed Indiana's first Technical Interchange Meeting, hosted by the Indiana Defense Network beginning in April 2020. The program brought together original equipment manufacturers, small and medium-sized manufacturers, subject-matter specialists, and academic institutions around Digital Thread for Supply Chain, with an emphasis on subtractive manufacturing in a model-based enterprise.
With support from the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, selected companies were invited to propose projects addressing digital thread opportunities and challenges. Grant recipients were required to include testing, validation, and technology support from other organizations across Indiana.
The team's proposal focused on extending Mursix's digital thread capabilities for potential commercial automotive, medical, and military applications. The collaboration connected manufacturing, systems science, research, and workforce-development perspectives to explore how information could be available when and where it was needed across the product lifecycle.
The original announcement recognized the Indiana Economic Development Corporation and the Indiana Defense Network for supporting the collaboration. This was a 2020 team award, not a current funding announcement or an individual award to IntelAdvise.
